Lochgelly is a former mining town surrounded by farmland and woodland close to Cowdenbeath in West Fife. Today the town has a population of around 6600, and is undergoing regeneration with major new investments in housing and industry, helped by excellent transport links by rail and by road to Edinburgh and Dundee.
