Community concerns lead to cannabis seizure in raid
21 JulyActing on concerns raised by local people at recent community meetings, Police in Lochgelly carried out a drugs operation - and seized a large quantity of herbal cannabis and cannabis resin was found in a flat in the town.
Detective Constable Claire Christie, Cowdenbeath CID, said: "Acting on community intelligence and in response to concerns expressed by the local community, Fife Police executed a drugs search warrant at an address in Lochgelly. As a result of this search several thousand pounds worth of controlled drugs were recovered, with a 22 year-old woman to be reported to the Procurator Fiscal in Dunfermline for Misuse of Drugs offences.
Enquiries are continuing to trace others connected with this drugs recovery - and local Police would like to thank the local community for their assistance in helping to target drug dealers in the Lochgelly community.
