Improvements for Lochgelly's Bank Street approved by council
3 FebruaryImprovements to benefit pedestrians and businesses in Lochgelly’s Bank Street have been agreed by councillors.
Councillors at this week’s Cowdenbeath Area Committee meeting agreed to install a raised table at Bank Street, outside the revamped Lochgelly Centre. This safety measure will make it easier for pedestrians to cross the street and access the businesses within the town centre.
The crossing is just one of the plans put forward through the Lochgelly Charette, aimed to revitalise the town and help create a more identifiable town centre area. After installation, the raised table will be monitored by council officers to assess its safety and effectiveness.
As part of the statutory consultation process, one objection was received on the proposed installation of the table. These concerns were addressed through the design process and information was passed back to the objector. At committee on 1 February, it was agreed to set aside the objection.
