Lochgelly boy named as victim of Perthshire road crash tragedy
7 NovemberPolice have confirmed that a seven-year-old Lochgelly boy, Cole Gibson, was the victim of a vehicle crash on the A9 in Perthshire at the weekend.
Cole, who was travelling in the rear seat of the car, died in hospital from his injuries on Sunday.
The driver of the car, Michael Joyce, 31, from Edinburgh, died at the scene of the crash just north of Bankfoot at 7.30pm on Friday.
A 29-year-old woman driving the other car involved in the crash suffered serious injuries. Her condition is described as stable.
The woman, who was driving a dark coloured Peugeot car, is being treated in Ninewells Hospital.
Tayside Police said two other women in her car, aged 18 and 19, were also taken to hospital with minor injuries, but have since been released.
The road was closed for seven hours after the crash while emergency services and crash investigators worked at the scene.
Officers said a full investigation into the incident was continuing and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
