Lochgelly West Pupils Campaigning for a Clean Place to Play
Lochgelly West Primary School has recently benefitted from a new grass area being created for us alongside the existing school grounds. A large area has been fenced off with a sturdy metal fence and access gates. We foresee the area being used for outdoor learning opportunities, sports days, and other activities.
We have one major problem, however - dogs! The grass area is being fouled by dog droppings which make it difficult, impossible on occasions, for our children to make the best use of this facility due to the health issues created by dog droppings.
The pupil council have contacted the press and had several stories published about this, and made posters for the area informing dog owners that this was in fact school property. Unfortunately the children's work was found in a nearby skip just days after being put up

I am a parent of children of the west i think this is disgusting that ppl choose to take their dogs into this area. It is a great area for them to do sports day in especially as timmons park is full of dog droppings. can these ppl not let the children have at least one place that is free of this and safe for our children. I would be very angry if my children came home and said they had fell in dog droppings.
