Cole Gibson from Lochgelly, who was tragically killed in a road accident in Perthshire, had asked for his organs to be donated to help others, it has been revealed.

Cole’s mother, Hazel, who was badly injured in the crash on the A9 in Perthshire in which Cole died, said donating his organs was helping her come to terms with her loss.

Hazel Gibson lost her partner Michael Joyce and her son Cole after the crash north of Bankfoot on Friday evening.

Ms Gibson, who is 17 weeks pregnant, was driving the car and was seriously injured in the collision.

Cole had decided that he wanted to be on the organ donors register after he picked up a leaflet, aged just five.
